Pure Color Orders

• It is critical to use the same mix design throughout the job and maintain a consistent water-to-cement ratio with a maximum slump of 4”. If a higher slump is needed, Prairie can add plasticizers and water reducers specially formulated for color mixes.
• If multiple loads are needed at the same location over a number of days, let the dispatcher know the mix used, the specified color, the date poured and the previous order number to ensure consistency of the materials used. Color variation can result if batch proportion and slump are not maintained from load to load and within each pour.
• Pure Color mixes cannot be used with calcium chloride. This additive can cause light and dark areas in the finished concrete.
• The mix should be blended at high speed for a minimum of 5 minutes before placement.

Performance Concrete Orders

• When ordering performance concrete (5000+ psi, lightweight, SCC, etc.), contact your sales representative at least 3 days before the pour to confirm the mix.
• For optimal performance, we recommend a minimum order of 3 yards for all performance concrete.
